Ciné Soirée
No need to don a beret or tie on a chic scarf to be part of the Ciné Soirée at the Alliance Française d’Atlanta facility in Roswell. In fact, you don’t even need to know how to parlez-vous. The French cultural association invites everyone to enjoy a casual evening of French film with a showing of the 2012 “Le Prénom” (loosely translated to “What’s in a Name?”). The story centers on a couple’s controversial choice of names for their first child, and if your French isn’t what it was during your college study abroad, just follow the English subtitles.

“Cats”
The Atlanta Lyric Theatre marks 35 musical seasons this year and kicks off the celebrations purr-fectly with a production of “Cats.” The beloved Broadway classic from Andrew Lloyd Webber runs through August, so there are more than a few dates to hear Grizabella, Bustopher Jones, Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees and the rest of the Jellicle cats tell their stories. Based on the poetry of T.S. Eliot, “Cats” set records for one of the longest-running shows on Broadway and introduced the classic song “Memory.”

Xtreme Paintball
Looking to burn off some stress as well as a few calories? What better way than to play a game or two of paintball? Xtreme Paintball in Conyers has all sorts of options for faux battles on its 3-acre complex that include an outdoor obstacle course with forts and bunkers. Continuous 30-minute games, such as speedball, capture the flag, and woodsball, are offered all day. No experience is required: Beginners and experienced players alike are welcome. Players also can bring their own equipment and purchase paint at the facility.
