Taste of Acworth

Famished? Grab a fork and follow the interstate to Acworth in northwest Cobb County. The city is hosting its annual Taste of Acworth festival to showcase a variety of dishes from local restaurants. From cupcakes to Jamaican plates, pizza to tangy Louisiana treats, there should be no shortage of culinary delights. Admission is free; food samples cost between $1 and $4. Along with food, look for a kids zone with games, a quad bungee and inflatables. Local businesses also plan to set up booths to meet and greet festivalgoers.

LILBURN

Romanian Fall Festival

Whether you bleed blue, yellow and red or are just hunting for a seriously good sausage, the Romanian Fall Festival promises fun with a European flair. The two-day festival features traditional Romanian music and dancing, as well as ethnic cuisine. Check out classic Romanian sausages, stuffed cabbage rolls, mititei and roasted chicken. Two artists from Romania, Diana Toma and Lucian Brener, will be on hand painting throughout the weekend, while kids will have a chance to paint their own T-shirts. Parking is free.

DUNWOODY

The Super Run

You may have a few race T-shirts tucked in the back of the closet, but how many race capes do you have? The Super Run is calling on the metro area’s wannabe superheroes to come running to raise money for local nonprofit organizations, including Children’s Healthcare and Savvy Cyber Kids, an organization that teaches kids online safety. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero, and those who finish the 5k race will receive a cape, bracelet and finisher’s medal. After the race, show off your super swag in an easy 1K fun run.
