LAWRENCEVILLE

Koi and Goldfish Show

Get lured in by fish this weekend without a trip to the lake. Instead, stop by the 22nd Annual Koi and Goldfish Show that’s swimming into the Gwinnett Fairgrounds. This family fun event centers on the unique Japanese fish, known for their exotic colors and long lifespans, and their goldfish brethren. Vendors will be on site selling koi fish, plants, equipment and supplies to build your own pond. Check out the competitions for the best koi and enter a raffle to win prizes.

9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 8; 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 9. Free admission. Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, 2405 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville. 770-963-6522, atlantakoiclub.org.

If you forget your own horn of ale, not to worry: Food and drink vendors will be on site. A children’s area will also have activities for the kiddies.
