KENNESAW
Owl-O-Ween
Fortune tellers, three stages of live entertainment, a space for the kids and costumes galore: The fourth annual Owl-O-Ween in Kennesaw will offer a variety of seasonal thrills. But the main attraction may be the display of hot air balloons hovering in the autumn sky. Whether you stay awestruck on the ground or reach new heights by taking a ride is up to you. Either way, be sure to enjoy the event in costume. Contests for the best outfits will be held both nights of this event. Other attractions include fashion shows and an aerialist. VIP tickets come with a dinner catered by Carrabba’s.
6-11 p.m. Oct. 21; 4-11 p.m. Oct. 22. $5-$75. Fifth Third Bank Stadium, 3200 George Busbee Parkway, Kennesaw. 470-578-4849, owl-o-ween.com.
CUMMING
Hay Day
This weekend, you can help make sure some horses have enough feed to last them all winter. Head out to Hay Day 2016 and help Save the Horses, a nonprofit that rescues abused, abandoned and neglected horses and other animals, in raising money to keep their feed bags full throughout the cold months to come. Kids of all ages will enjoy a day of old-fashioned farm fun, including pony rides, a petting zoo, hay rides, stable visits and a cake walk. Listen to live music as you nibble on baked goodies or taste your way through the chili cook-off. Don’t forget your costume: The best will take home a prize.
