Butcher & Brew Festival

Be there for the beginning of a tradition as Butcher and Brew kicks off its first fest. The event offers full access to unlimited samples of seasonal craft brews, including Creature Comforts, Sweetwater, Gate City and Abbey of the Holy Goats. Between sips, play a few games of giant Jenga or cornhole and grab a bite from the Big Green Egg, sizzling under the direction of Chef Andy Long. Half of the proceeds support the Drake House, a haven for single mothers and children.

Teacher’s PET Fun Run

Fun and fitness are a great combination for kids and the sixth annual Teacher’s PET (Public Education Trust) Fun Run wants to celebrate all things active. Kids from pre-K through middle school are invited to race against others in their age groups for a shot at awards for the fastest runners. Along with the races, a special veterans’ recognition will take place and a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Douglas County Road Runners will be held. Proceeds go to Douglas County’s PET program to support teachers throughout the county.

Golden Gala Benefit

The Roswell-based Atlanta Workshop Players are celebrating 37 years of living up to their motto of “kids changing the world, one audience at a time.” You can support that change by enjoying an evening out at the Golden Gala Benefit to be held at the Country Club of the South in Johns Creek. Enjoy live entertainment, an auction and plenty of dining and dancing. The festivities include special recognition of “Dr. Fuddle” Warren Woodruff and Michael and Anne Greenbaum for their commitment to the arts community. Proceeds benefit the performing arts company that caters to youth of all ages and backgrounds.
