Special Needs Screening of “The Last Jedi”
Everyone is talking about the new “Star Wars” film, but if your child has special needs, it might be difficult to see it in a crowded theater. Studio Movie Grill in Alpharetta has a solution. On Dec. 30, the theater will host a special needs screening of the movie, during which the lights will stay on, and the volume will be lowered so that those sensitive to light and noise can enjoy the film. Don’t fret if your child needs to move around a little or wants to talk at times – and who doesn’t have something to say about the ongoing saga? Admission is free for special needs children and their siblings.

Kids Cowboy Up! Exhibition
Come see what kids can do at the Booth Museum’s 14th annual Kids Cowboy Up! Exhibition. Throughout the year, staff from the museum work with children from the Boys & Girls Club of Bartow County and the Hands of Christ After School Program to find ways to bring out the inner artists. The students from elementary through high school create art in a variety of forms. The best examples are displayed at the end of each year at the museum. This is your chance to see outstanding local talent before anyone else, as well as check out the museum’s other exhibitions.

Early New Year’s Eve Celebration
Making it to midnight on New Year’s Eve can be tough with kids — heck, even on their parents. No matter how hard they try, few can manage to stay awake long enough to watch the clock strike midnight. Make it easy for them to be part of the fun by celebrating a little early this year at Stone Mountain’s Early New Year’s Eve festivities. The party will be part of the park’s Christmas Adventure activities that get into full swing at 2 p.m. But the clock will count down to 9 p.m., the big moment when the snow angel falls, and the fireworks finale begins. After all, it’s midnight somewhere! (Don’t forget that the cost of admission is in addition to parking fees.)
