KENNESAW

Great Southern Food Truck Rally

More than 40 of the best food trucks in metro Atlanta will be on hand for what promises to become an annual happening. Judge the best tastes for yourself, or wait for the results from the panel of culinary experts. Listen to live musical performances, or try your luck with the lawn games. A $10 admission gets you inside the festival, but food purchases are extra. If you love craft beer, consider the $50 VIP ticket that gets you in an hour earlier than everyone else and gives you access to the VIP Georgia Brew area and a selection of beer from local breweries.

11 a.m.-9 p.m. Aug. 27. $10-$50. KSU Sports and Entertainment Park, 3200 George Busbee Parkway, Kennesaw. 470-578-4849, greatsouthernfoodtruckrally.com.

ROSWELL

End of Summer Bash

Furry friends, bountiful burgers, beer and a new green space — this bash has it all! Lucky’s in Roswell will be fundraising for Angels Among Us Pet Rescue and opening its doors to all dog lovers. Enter your own pooch pal into the “second” cutest dog contest (Lucky, the restaurant’s namesake and the owners’ golden retriever, always wins first place). Watch local high school football players face off in a burger-eating challenge, and check out Lucky’s Backyard, a new green space. The Seven Sons will play live music, and a special dog performance will feature Disc Dogs doing their thing.

4-11 p.m. Aug. 27. Free entry. Lucky's Burger and Brew, 1144 Alpharetta St., Roswell. 770-518-5695, luckysburgerandbrew.com.

Festival of Bulgaria

Atlanta’s Bulgarian community is stepping out and showing off at its second annual festival. Check out the country’s culture with traditional folk dancing and musical performances. Explore more with your taste buds by indulging in classic dishes and treats. Malincho Euro market, a store specializing in all things Bulgarian, will be on-site with goodies to take home. The kiddies can romp in the play zone, complete with slides, bouncy houses and face painting.

Noon-6 p.m. Aug. 28. Free entry. Pinckneyville Park, 4758 S. Old Peachtree Road, Norcross. 678-666-2119, bulgariafestival.com.
