It's the end of the month, but that doesn't mean the number of events going on is fizzling out. From open mics to pig roasts, this last week of August is filled with events to keep you entertained! 

Monday, August 24

Open Mic Atlanta

8-10:30 p.m. at Royal Peacock. Enjoy open mic night at one of the most historic clubs in the South and bring a friend to enjoy drink specials, a hookah bar and pool table. Sign-up begins at 7:30 p.m. and the list fills up fast, so be sure to come on time. Doors open at 9 p.m with a $10 admission fee. Dual Winemaker Dinner with J. Dusi Wines and Kimberly Jones selections

6:30 p.m. at Watershed on Peachtree. Wine lovers will love this event. Kick off the evening with Executive Chef Zeb Stevenson as he discusses the art of crafting the ultimate blend of cuisine and wine before an exciting bottle sabering presentation. At 7 p.m., you and your guest(s) will indulge in a special 4-course dinner as you sip on the perfect combination of wines by the night's winemakers — Janell Dusi from J.Dusi Winery in Paso Robles and Kimberly Jones who crafts her wines in Maury and Rhone France. Geek Trivia

Epic Lip Sync Battle

10 p.m. at Atkins Park in Virginia-Highland. Individuals, duos and groups are invited to compete in the first-ever Lip Sync Battle hosted by Atkins Park. BYOB Art Class - "Flapper Fridays"

4-6 p.m. or 7-9 p.m. at G.A.S. - Art Gifts. Students of all levels are welcome to attend this BYOB art class guided by professional illustrator Gregory Christie. The Big Float: "Save Our Water"

Trips: Varying times at varying locations; After party: 1:30-4:30 p.m. at SweetWater Brewery Co. Help raise awareness for clean, swimmable water by spending a day out in it. Several outfitters like REI, High Country Paddle Shack and more have planned eight trips for the event. Enjoy live music, purchase food from on-site food trucks, obtain six drink tickets for beer and join a raffle for some sweet prizes at the after party. 8th Annual End of Summer Pig Roast

11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Cypress Street Pint & Plate. Celebrate the bittersweet ending of summer live music, ice-cold brews, homemade sides and of course, pulled pork fixings from the 100-pound smoked hog. The event is free to attend, but VIP pre-sale tickets are also available for purchase and will offer guests a Pig Roast t-shirt, a SweetWater beer, a King of Pops popsicle and more. Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Yurt Village at Sweetwater Creek

10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Sweetwater Creek State Park. Join Georgia State Parks for this landmark occasion and tour the 10-unit yurts and the park's tent campground. Free outdoor activities such as kayaking and several family-friendly activities will be offered all day, so bring the family along! Sandy Springs Restaurant Council Kickoff Cookout Tailgate

11 a.m.-2 p.m. at 5 Seasons Brewing Co. Come dressed in your favorite college football team's colors and indulge in tasty bites from Food 101 and other big Sandy Springs restaurants while you enjoy live music, crafted brewed beers and traditional tailgate games like corn hole and QB Toss. 'Foxeria del Sol' Hatch Chile Fest

4-8 p.m. at Taqueria del Sol's Howell Mill location. Taqueria del Sol and Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q are inviting you to celebrate the arrival of the annual shipment of Hatch Chiles from New Mexico. The tented block-party will feature live music, specialty cocktails and of course, delicious sweet and savory dishes highlighting the flavor of the Hatch Chile. The fest will benefit Hogs for the Cause, a nonprofit that aids in the funding of pediatric brain cancer outreach services in the United States. Tickets are $25/person. Om Yoga on the Patio

10:15 a.m. at Osteria Mattone. Unwind after the weekend with a free yoga class on the patio taught by certified instructor, Laura Beisel. The Vinyasa-style class is appropriate for all levels.
