Buckhead Theatre restored to its former glory

Legendary concert promoter Alex Cooley and Charlie Loudermilk, a developer and founder of Aaron's Inc., were the driving forces behind the $6 million refurbishing of the Buckhead Theatre.

The main entrance to the main stage looks out to the front doors. The Buckhead Theatre will host banquets, parties and corporate events, along with midsize rock shows.

Deer Tick, Dead Confederate and Built to Spill are among the acts already booked to play shows on the main stage this summer.

The upstairs bar and lounge area was broken in on May 14, when a $1,000-a-seat fund-raiser for the March of Dimes was held.

The upholstered chairs and ornamental plasterwork, seen here in the balcony, indicate a departure from the theater's previous incarnation as the Roxy.
