Zombie-infested 5K adventure race, Run for Your Lives

It's a 5K with a twist! Participants in the Run For Your Lives adventure race had to maneuver through a muddy course filled with obstacles while being chased by zombies.

The event was Saturday at Durhamtown Plantation Sports Complex in Union Point.

Run for Your Lives took participants through a series of obstacles over a 5K course, and with the storms that moved through Georgia Friday...

it made for quite the muddy experience.

Racers, wearing a flag football-like belt with three flags, had to make strategic choices to find the quickest route to the finish line with at least one flag to complete the race as a survivor.

Survivors and newly-created “zombies” – those who finish without flags – celebrated following the event at the Apocalypse Party.
