The blockbuster film “Bad Boys For Life” was released in theaters nationwide in January, but a year ago, the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence-starring flick began filming in Atlanta.
Georgia’s capital city is the location of Will Smith’s focus for a recent YouTube video he posted to his channel.

Titled, “How we shot Bad Boys For Life,” Smith recounts stunt sequences captured during the last weeks of principle photography on the set, which began in January 2019.
“We’re gonna do 17 days worth of work in six days,” Smith said in the footage. “Watch!”
The video cuts to clips of Smith and Lawrence wielding guns, riding motorbikes and driving cars amid explosions and gunfire. At one point, the movie’s co-director, Bilall Fallah, is faced with a decision during a Smith fight scene on whether or not to set off an explosion, depending on how good or bad the scene is. The scene ends up good, however, so Fallah sets off the explosion.

Another moment occurs outside AmericasMart Atlanta. Smith tells the crowd gathered that they’re “in an iconic film moment” as he and Lawrence sit in a motorcycle and three-wheeler respectively. Ultimately, though, the stars leave the hard work to the stunt doubles.
There’s also a dramatic scene shot on the 17th Street bridge, where stunt pilot Fred North was responsible for flying a helicopter. At the same time, Smith’s stunt double, Cory Dunsun, jumped onto the extended ladder and swung in the air following a massive explosion.
"Bad Boys For Life" has earned $370 million worldwide after taking in $62.5 million on opening weekend. The film's success has already lead a fourth installment to be in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The franchise began in 1995 with Michael Bay as the director.
