The 12th annual Webby Awards honored the best of the Internet during a gala Tuesday night. Atlanta rapper Ludacris pimps wemix.com, a site where users can upload original songs and get feedback from their peers.

"Without the Internet, someone like Tila Tequila would have five or six friends, max," host Seth Meyers said during the awards. So that's a mark against the Web.

Ludacris presented will.i.am with his award. The videos "Yes We Can" and "We Are the Ones" combine music, parts of speeches Barack Obama has made and celebrities talking about their hopes for the future.

Beh Huh, creator of icanhascheezburger.com, kept his five words simple enough for a kitty to understand. Ironically, Huh is allergic to cats. He can has anafylactic shok?

The Talking Heads' David Byrne, who has merged culture with technology throughout his career, received a Lifetime Achievement award. His latest project is Playing the Building, in which he will transform a New York City building into an interactive musical instrument. Yeah, try finding a case for that thing.

In Webby tradition, each acceptance speech was limited to five words. The words Stephen Colbert chose after he won Person of the Year? "Me, me, me, me, me!" He can put that one next to the Understandable Vanity Award he got from Princeton.
