At a concert in New York on Friday night, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band began their set with purple lights shining down onto the stage and the opening chords of “Purple Rain” echoing throughout the arena.
They then performed the famous Prince song, just 48 hours after the legendary music pioneer passed away at age 57.

The crowd immediately knew what was going on and gave the band a deep round of applause as they sang along to one of the most famous songs of all time.
