Three years since their marriage was hit with an ugly cheating scandal, actress Tori Spelling and actor Dean McDermott are expecting their fifth child together.
The couple confirmed the news to People.com that the a fifth child is on the way.
Although McDermott, 49, said the pregnancy was a surprise, much like their fourth child, he told People this one is a sign of the strength of their marriage.
"It's a testament to how much we love each other and it's a testament to (Tori) for staying with me," McDermott told People. "It's amazing. Love does conquer all."
The couple are already parents to Liam, 9, Stella, 8, Hattie, 5, and Finn, 4. McDermott also has an 18-year-old son, Jack, from a previous marriage.
"We made the conscious decision based on our love for each other and our love for our family as a whole to tough it out and work through it and get through it," Spelling, 43, said of the 2013 cheating scandal, in which McDermott slept with another woman while working in Canada.
"I feel like people take marriage too lightly in this day and age," Spelling said. "Sometimes things happen in life and they’re mistakes, but love doesn’t just turn off. That’s not how our hearts work. I want our kids to know one day that we stuck it out and worked through it."
The couple has renewed their vows twice and recently celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in May.
