This Atlanta barbecue spot is a must-try, according to a new list

Thousands voted in this year's poll to determine the best barbecue in Atlanta. The crown this year will be worn by a different restaurant than in 2018. Coming in third for 2019 was Heirloom Market in Cobb County. No. 2 was Fox Bros. in Atlanta, with 21% of the votes. But the winner was write-in nominee Hattie Marie's Texas Style BBQ & Cajun Kitchen in College Park, with 27.7% of the votes.

It might be too cold for grilling, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a trip to your favorite Atlanta barbecue spot.

It's no secret that barbecue is a favorite dish throughout the country. I mean who wouldn't want to travel the United States in search of the best barbecue in every state? Well, that's exactly what the outdoor entertaining website Go Shindig had in mind when it released "United Steaks of America: The Ultimate BBQ Road Trip."

The list maps out where you can find the best barbecue in every state. The restaurants were ranked according to TripAdvisor ratings and the average price of a starter, a main course and a drink, according to Go Shindig. The list features a handy map that details how long it would take to complete the ultimate barbecue crawl across the U.S.

The Atlanta barbecue spot to make Go Shindig’s list is Community Q BBQ in Decatur. “Born of barbecue royalty Sam & Dave’s BBQ1 and BBQ2 in Marietta, owner David Roberts has not only brought the best of that barbecue spot’s pit skills to his new ITP home, he’s brought his macaroni and cheese with him, too,” the AJC wrote previously about this popular barbecue joint.

Through its research, Go Shindig also uncovered the top 20 barbecue restaurants in the U.S., where Community Q BBQ ranked No. 3. You can view the full list here.
