5 things to know about Sean 'Diddy' Combs' arrest at UCLA

Rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs, 45, was arrested Monday after he allegedly assaulted someone with a piece of weightlifting equipment at UCLA, where his son, Justin, plays football, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Here's what we know so far:
1. Combs faces several charges in connection with the incident. According to the LA Times, he was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Monday and charged with multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon, as well as one count each of battery and making terrorist threats. Nobody was seriously hurt in the incident, which allegedly took place in the campus' athletic complex and involved a kettlebell, the Times reports.

2. Bruins football coach Jim Mora weighed in with a statement. "This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved," football coach Jim Mora said. "While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time."

3. Combs posted bail and has been released from jail. Officials said he posted $50,000 bail at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Inmate Reception Center about 9:50 p.m. Monday. However, Combs' bail was listed as $160,000 online, according to the Times

4. These aren't the first allegations against Combs. According to The Associated Press, he was cleared of weapons and bribery charges in connection with a 1999 nightclub shooting. That year, he also was arrested in the beating of an Interscope Records executive. 

5. Combs' son, Justin, is a defensive back for the UCLA Bruins. The 21-year-old graduated in 2012 from Iona Prep in New York and received a full athletic scholarship to UCLA, the Times reports. According to the Bruins' website, the redshirt junior has played in seven games. Cordell Broadus, the son of rapper Snoop Dogg, also is on the team.
