Today is a great day to get out and enjoy some live entertainment in Atlanta.

From New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia to jazz group Band in Black, there are a few free shows going on throughout Atlanta.

Here are our four suggestions for things to do today:

1. FEATURED

Café 290 has been a great hangout spot for jazz fans for decades. On Thursday, the venue doesn’t charge a cover.

Enjoy a set from Band in Black at 8 p.m., while dining on shrimp cocktail and chicken wings.

Big Freedia, the New Orleans bounce artist whose voice can be heard in Beyonce's viral video "Formation," is among the artists that will perform at this event.

The festivities will take place on the lower level and on the roof of Ponce City Market on April 7 at 7 p.m.

In addition to Freedia’s performance, there will be a screening of virtual reality short film “Interrupture.” Local bands Culture Culture and Wrenn will also perform.
