Texas celebs honored in Austin

Austin Film Society honors filmmakers and stars from the state of Texas.

While the musicmakers were doing their thing at the South by Southwest festival, the Austin Film Society handed out its Texas Hall of Fame Awards in the Texas capital. Emcee Dan Rather (who's from Houston) and and guest of honor Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top were at the ceremony.

Frank Beard, Dusty Hill and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top accept their award for "Film Soundtrack." The band formed in Houston in 1969.

Actress Debra Winger accepts the award on behalf of the movie "Urban Cowboy."

Morgan Fairchild (born in Dallas) was one of the night's honorees. She receives her award from actress Tess Harper.

Filmmaker Mike Judge ("Office Space," "King of the Hill"), another Austin Film Society honoree, lives in Austin.

Actor Luke Wilson (born in Dallas) was on hand to present the award to ZZ Top.

Actress Mariska Hargitay accepted the award on behalf of her late mother, Jayne Mansfield, who grew up in Dallas.

Molly Sims was on hand to pay tribute to the Texas honorees.
