Some sad news for "Star Trek" legend Leonard Nimoy, he has a serious lung disease.

Apparently reacting to stories  from publications reporting he was using a wheelchair and an oxygen tube in his nose, he tweeted:

I quit smoking 30 yrs ago. Not soon enough. I have COPD. Grandpa says, quit now!! LLAP

COPD is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and is said to be caused by smoking.

Nimoy followed up that first tweet with:

Smokers, please understand. If you quit after you're diagnosed with lung damage it's too late. Grandpa says learn my lesson. Quit now. LLAP.
