After a year in Las Vegas, the 2008 Trumpet Awards festivities returned to their hometown.

After a year in Las Vegas, the 2008 Trumpet Awards festivities returned to their hometown. Founder, president and CEO of Trumpet Awards Foundation Inc., Xernona Clayton, waves from the red carpet on Sunday.

The 16th annual salute to African-American achievement in law, business, medicine, politics, entertainment and public service was hosted by Samuel L. Jackson and his wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson.

Actor Danny Glover was on hand to receive the Humanitarian Award.
