Usher in the new month by attending the concert of one of pop music's biggest songwriters or lounging on the roof of one of Atlanta's most popular mixed-use communities.

Here are five things to do in metro Atlanta this week:

Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company opens its season with the Pulitzer Prize and Tony-award winning play “Proof.” The play tackles themes such as miscommunication in familial and romantic relationships and mental illness.

Times vary. Through Nov. 20. $20-$35. Southwest Arts Center, 915 New Hope Road, Atlanta. Truecolorstheatre.org.

Sam Mendes and Rob Barshall’s Tony Award-winning production of “Cabaret” is coming to the Fox Theatre on Nov. 1.

The musical will take attendees into the Kit Kat Klub in Berlin during the Nazis’ rise to power.

Times vary. Nov. 1-6. $30-$95. Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St., Atlanta. Foxtheatre.org.

Sia’s reinvention landed her an audience that can support an arena tour. The “Chandelier” singer has taken drastic measures to keep the focus solely on her music since breaking into mainstream pop with “Titanium” so dancers such as Maddie Zeigler (‘Dance Moms’ and Sia’s “Chandelier” music video) will take center stage during this show.

R&B crooner Miguel and London EDM duo AlunaGeorge are opening up for Sia. Both acts have an established fan base, but this arena tour will no doubt gain them some new followers.

7 p.m. Nov. 1. $60-$175. Philips Arena, 1 Philips Drive, Atlanta. Philipsarena.com.

Halloween is still a few weeks away but many local haunted attractions have already opened their doors. Enter if you dare and see what freightening creatures await at popular haunted houses such as Netherworld and House of Horror Hill.

Visit The Roof at Ponce City Market before it gets too cold.

From carnival-style games, priced at $1-$3, to a beer garden and a giant slide that sits behind the popular “Ponce City Market” sign, The Roof at Ponce City Market is perfect for any occasion. Throw a giant hammer over your shoulder and see if you have enough strength to ring the bell or test your hoop skills with a basketball game while on the roof.

Whether you’re looking for a lounge with a great view for a date, or hoping to have some fun with friends, you’ll likely find Skyline Park worth the $10 admission fee (for adults). Kids under 12 can visit the park for $7, and children ages 3 and under are admitted for free.
