Rihanna and Chris Brown have been dating for a year and half, but they've known each other for longer than that. Rihanna accepted the Pop/Rock Female Award during the 2008 American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Nov. 23, 2008.

Rihanna was at the NFL Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Concert held at the Florida State Fairgrounds on Jan. 29, 2009 in Tampa, Fla.

Rihanna performed during a concert in Mexico City earlier this year.

She was at the Verizon & BlackBerry's Grammy Party on Feb. 6, 2009 in Los Angeles.

Like other celebrities, Rihanna likes to get behind certain causes. Here she is with Frida Giannini at the launch of Gucci's Tattoo Heart Collection to benefit UNICEF on Nov. 19, 2008 in New York.

Rihanna and Chris Brown have also performed together. On Dec. 12, 2008 they sang at Z100's Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden in New York.

She was with Miley Cyrus at the 2009 GRAMMY Salute to Industry Icons honoring Clive Davis at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on February 7, 2009. It was after that event, in the early hours of Feb. 8, that Chris Brown allegedly assaulted her.

Chris Brown was also at the 2009 Pre-Grammy Gala & Salute to Industry Icons in Beverly Hills on February 7, 2009.
