On Thursday afternoon, fans of music legend Prince got the shocking news that the 57-year-old icon passed away at his Paisley Park home.
As news of his death began to circulate, fans of Prince immediately began to post favorite performances and songs from throughout his career. One of the videos that came up most frequently was Prince's 2007 performance at the Super Bowl.
The career spanning medley found Prince in perfect form, as he sang his heart out and ripped through classics like “Let’s Go Crazy,” “When Doves Cry,” and even a cover of “Best of You” by the Foo Fighters.
Like a scene straight out of a Hollywood movie, Prince, who is perhaps best known for his 1984 album “Purple Rain,” performed most of the set during the pouring rain.
“It felt surprising it felt spontaneous. It felt very loose,” Prince biographer Alan Light said of Prince’s performance.
