Rapper Afroman was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly punched a female fan in a Biloxi, Mississippi, nightclub, WLOX reports.
Police said Joseph Foreman – the performer's real name – punched the woman after she walked on stage during a Mardi Gras concert at Kress Live. He was arrested and charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor, police said.
Foreman, 40, was released from jail after paying $330 bail, police said.
Foreman's representative told Billboard that "this was a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space. It was uncharacteristic behavior that was initiated by outside uncontrolled forces."
Facebook user Joshua McLelland also shared a video (WARNING: GRAPHIC) that appears to show Foreman punching the fan.
