The 99-cheese pizza is no longer a culinary impossibility.
A chef in Australia has created a pizza using 99 different cheeses as an homage to the Novantanove Formaggio displayed in the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie.
Chef Johnny Di Francesco melted together 94 different cheeses and chilled the mixture into a block to achieve the right texture and flavor. Five fresh cheeses are also featured on the pizza.
This week, Paramount celebrated the DVD and Blu-ray release of the movie by recreating the cheese-loaded pizza based upon the chef’s blueprint as part of their publicity campaign.
The 99-cheese pizza proved popular at Di Francesco’s restaurant, where he sold over 100 of them in two hours.
