Celebrities who have announced: 'I'm gay'

"Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller came out in August 2013 to protest Russia's anti-gay laws.

Jason Collins -- who has played for the professional basketball teams the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics -- came out in April 2013. In a column for "Sports Illustrated," he wrote, "The recent Boston Marathon bombing reinforced the notion that I shouldn't wait for the circumstances of my coming out to be perfect. Things can change in an instant, so why not live truthfully?"

Jodie Foster first came out in 2007 during a Women in Entertainment breakfast, revealing her long-term relationship with her then-girlfriend Cydney Bernard. But no one took much notice until Foster's speech at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards, when she noted she "did her coming out in the Stone Age" and referenced Bernard again.

Pop singer Mika confirmed he was gay in 2012.

Food Network star and chef Anne Burrell came out as a lesbian in 2012 after "Chopped" host Ted Allen referenced her partner.

Actor Andrew Rannells, who plays a gay man on "The New Normal" and the Broadway musical "The Book of Mormon," revealed he's gay in real life in 2012.

Puerto Rican featherweight boxer Orlando Cruz came out in 2012, describing himself as "a proud gay man." He is believed to be the first pro boxer to come out as openly homosexual while still competing.

"Good Morning America" weatherman Sam Champion, came out in 2012, and also announced his engagement to artist Rubem Robierb (right), who he married in December.
