No Pants Subway Ride has pantless riders invading MARTA

Nearly one hundred MARTA riders dropped their pants and took a few rides around the city Sunday. Find out why and see the proof on Nelson's News on wsbtv.com.

No, you're not seeing things, MARTA was packed full of pantless riders Sunday.

About one hundred people dropped their pants to take part in the No Pants Subway Ride Atlanta 2013.

The No Pants Subway Ride started in New York City by Improv Everywhere, a comedy troupe.

It's now expanded to more than 59 cities in 27 countries around the world including Boston, Seattle and San Francisco.

"The idea behind No Pants is simple: Random passengers board a subway car at separate stops in the middle of winter without pants. The participants do not behave as if they know each other, and they all wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. The only unusual thing is their lack of pants."

The Atlanta group met at the Five Points station before taking the train to the Civic Center MARTA station. That's where participants removed their pants.

There was time for photos.

The group then boarded MARTA for a ride to the Lindbergh station.

Once there, they switched trains and took a southbound train to the airport.

Riders then jumped back onto the northbound train for their final ride back to the Five Points station where the adventure began.

Atlanta's Gobi Lumberjacks was the group organizing the Atlanta event. The group has been participating since 2009.
