Atlanta rapper Young Joc and pop-punk band Cartel performed for Georgia State University students at the Atlanta Civic Center. The Atlanta area performers are headlining the national Crocs Next Step Campus Tour.

College Park rapper Yung Joc was a Grammy nominee this year for 'It's Goin' Down.'

Yung Joc was on Forbes magazine's list of "Top 20 Hip-Hop Kings'in 2007, at No. 20.

Yung Joc released his second album, 'Hustlenomics,' in August 2007. He co-hosted BMI's Unsigned Urban Showcase at Atlanta's Luckie Food Lounge in April.

In a coincidence that the footwear company probably had just as soon forget, Crocs not only has two Atlanta area performers -- Yung Joc and Cartel -- on its tour but is being sued by the husband of the executive producer for prominent Atlanta radio host Neal Boortz in a personal injury case.

The national Crocs Next Step Campus Tour brings together the two sides of Atlanta music in rapper Yung Joc and pop-punk quintet Cartel. The tour came to the Civic Center on Saturday.

Cartel takes the stage. The band drew national attention for a stunt in the spring of 2007 in which they spent 20 days in a fiberglas bubble on Pier 54 in New York City while recording their latest CD.

Cartel lead singer Will Pugh. The Conyers band signed with Wind-Up Records in July and plans to begin work on its third album after the Crocs tour.
