Once upon a time, it was every girl's dream to find herself in Elvis Presley's arms. For many, the dream came true. Their stories are told in the book "Baby, Let's Play House: Elvis Presley and the Women Who Loved Him." Not included: Elvis' one true love -- his mama Gladys.

Elvis and Priscilla Wagner first met in 1959 and married in 1967. The next year, she gave birth to daughter Lisa Marie. The couple split in 1973, though they remained friends until his death four years later.

Linda Thompson was a Miss USA runner-up who dated Elvis in the 1970s. Their relationship was turned into a TV movie called "Elvis and the Beauty Queen." She later married Olympian Bruce Jenner.

"One of the things I knew instinctively was that he couldn't be captured, and shouldn't be captured," Connie Stevens said. "He was a very dear, precious person."

Elvis's erotic style infuriated Natalie Wood, who flounced out of his house one day in a rage: "I thought he was supposed to be the king of the sack!" she said. "He's all hands and no action."

Tuesday Weld was also less than kind. She said he looked better with his clothes on.

Ann-Margret and Elvis Presley got close when the two met while filming "Viva Las Vegas."

Peggy Lipton was also unimpressed: "He kissed like a god but that was about it."

Singer June Carter toured with Elvis and credited him with introducing her to the music of her future husband Johnny Cash.
