Throughout the set, the singer/bassist, in a tight, white T-shirt, a spiky row of blonde fuzz on his head, sounded as hearty as he looked, holding notes until the veins in his neck popped and ably navigating key changes.

Sting is backed by a five-piece band that includes Dominic Miller on guitar and drummer Vincent Colaiuta.

Sting's "Back to Bass" tour stop included a two-hour historical romp through his career.

Sting plowed through "Fields of Gold," "Sacred Love," "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You," among other solo and Police hits.

Notably absent from the set list was the Police staple "Roxanne."
