Rapper B.o.B brought his hip hop to Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta on Christmas Eve. The Decatur native, aka Bobby Ray Simmons Jr. B.o.B) has a lot to celebrate. There's his Grammy nod for record of the year. Nothin' on You, a No. 1 hit that features it-boy Bruno Mars, will compete for that prize. His debut album, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, debuted at No. 1 in April and provided two more Top 10 singles in Magic and Airplanes.

B.o.B was born Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr. on Nov. 15, 1988 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

His debut album, 'B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray', was set to be released on May 25, 2010, but was pushed up to April 27, 2010 after the commercial success of his song 'Nothin' on You', featuring Bruno Mars. The album was released under T.I.'s record label Grand Hustle.

B.o.B has described his influences as 80's music, rap, techno, rock, funk, and even doo-wop.

B.o.B is currently signed under the labels of Grand Hustle Records, Rebel Rock Entertainment, and Atlantic Records. His debut single "Nothin' on You" reached No. 1 in the U.S. and the U.K..

As a teen, Bobby Ray Simmons was influenced by Atlanta hip-hop, and chose his stage name B.o.B as a tribute to the Outkast song "B.O.B (Bombs Over Baghdad)."

On Dec. 7, B.o.B. released his mixtape 'No Genre'. He was named "Best New Artist" by iTunes 2010 Rewind Chart. 'B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray' was certified gold on Dec. 16.

He won a Soul Train Award in 2010 in the Best Song category for 'Nothin' on You.' He also won a Teen Choice award in the best Hook Up Song category for his hit: 'Airplanes.'

In 2008, B.o.B was also featured on T.I.'s album 'Paper Trail' on the song 'On Top of the World.'

B.o.B has been called the rapper who put the romance back into hip-hop.
