Legendary performer Johnny Mathis brought his 60th anniversary concert tour to the Cobb Energy Centre Friday, Jan. 29.

Mathis is longest-running artist at Columbia Records and has recorded more than 80 albums in his career.

Mathis has had three songs inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame -- "Chances Are", "Misty" and "It's Not for Me to Say."

Mathis has achieved 50 Hits on Billboard's Adult contemporary chart, and ranks as the all-time #6 album artist in the history of Billboard's pop album charts.

Mathis has sold well over 350 million records worldwide, making him the third biggest selling artist of the 20th century.

Born September 30, 1935 in Gilmer, Texas, John Royce Mathis has been actively performing since 1956.

After his family moved to San Francisco, Mathis was a star athlete in high school, participating in basketball and track.

Through the years, Johnny Mathis songs (or parts of them) have been heard in 100 plus television shows and films around the world.

His songs have been played more recently in the TV series such as Mad Men and his "Wonderful! Wonderful!" was used in the conclusion to the long running TV series Desperate Housewives

The legendary Johnny Mathis celebrates six decades as a recording artist.
