Paolo Nutini wraps up tour at Tabernacle

Paolo Nutini (pictured), Sara Bareilles and Serena Ryder entertained a youthful crowd Saturday night downtown at the Tabernacle on the final night of their tour.

Paolo Giovanni Nutini was born on Jan. 9, 1987, and is a British singer/songwriter from Paisley, Scotland. His father is of Italian descent, from Barga, Tuscany and his mother is Glaswegian, although his father's family have been in Scotland for four generations.

Paolo Nutini was signed to Atlantic Records in May 2005, shortly after his 18th birthday. He released his first single 'These Streets' as a free download in May 2006, which was followed by 'Last Request' and charted at No. 5 in the official UK charts. In the video for 'Last Request,' Nutini plays the part of a robber, though this is not revealed until the end.

Paolo Nutini sings 'Rewind' Saturday night at the Tabernacle. His influences include David Bowie, Damien Rice, Oasis, the Beatles, U2, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac.

A medium-sized, but enthusiastic crowd awaits Paolo Nutini to begin his set. His song 'Million Faces' from the album These Streets was featured at the end of the 'Grey's Anatomy' episode 'Testing 1-2-3' from the third season.

Over the past two years, Paolo Nutini has played a number of sell-out concerts in the UK, and performed at a wide variety of venues worldwide, including King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow, a TV appearance on Later with Jools Holland, Carnegie Hall in New York, The Montreux Jazz Festival, The Wireless Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Austin City Limits, The Tonight Show, Live Earth and Bonnaroo.

Paolo Nutini sings the hit 'New Shoes' Saturday night at the Tabernacle. In 2006 he supported the Rolling Stones in Vienna and has been invited to appear with them again.

Paolo Nutini's young female fanbase has propelled the singer's popularity.

Paolo describes his rapid success as, 'Everything that has happened to me so far has been really good, really fluent,' Nutini says. 'There have been a few bumps along the way, sure, but nothing fatal. All I want now is for enough people to identify with my songs so I can keep on singing them. I like to think they're worth hearing.'

Rising singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles grew up in Eureka, Calif., and has been compared to Fiona Apple and Norah Jones.

Canadian performer Serena Ryder, 23, opens the show.
