One Direction thrills Gwinnett crowd

British pop stars One Direction thrills crowd at Gwinnett Arena Tuesday, June 26, 2012.

British teen heartthrobs One Direction - Louis Tomlinson (the swoopy hair one), Niall Horan (the blond one), Harry Styles (the Mick Jagger one), Liam Payne (the shy one) and Zayn Malik (the swarthy one) - burst onto the stage at Gwinnett Arena in a blur of Converse, skinny jeans and artfully tousled hair.

Harry Styles, performing "I Gotta Feelin'," got the loudest cheers from the crowd.

One Direction - otherwise known as 1-D - doesn't have choreographed dance routines, but the boys do prance about the stage.

Loius Tomlinson is the band's elder statesman at 20.

Some accoustic songs showcased One Direction member Zayn Malik's crooning strength.

Niall Horan and One Direction led the crowd in a singalong of their current hit, "One Thing."

The guys rolled through the titles of their debut record, which was released in March. the band also highlighted some tweets sent in by audience members on the video screen behind the stage.

Manika gets the sold out crowd in the mood for One Direction.

Alpharetta's Tracy Johnson(left) and Jenna Brunner staked out a spot in the parking deck overlooking the tour buses in the hopes of spotting a One Direction band member.

Caroline and Chloe Russo and Maddie and Kelsey Montgomery traveled from New Orleans to see (and possibly marry) One Direction.

The atmosphere was reminiscent of Beatlemania as Destiney and Brittney Smallwood wait to enter Gwinnett Arena for the show.

The audience - predominantly made out of female fans - swoon to "I wish."
