Michael Jackson's Items to be sold on tv auction

Pop star Michael Jackson had about 2,000 items taken from his Neverland Ranch and many of them were scheduled to be sold at auction starting April 22. However, the auction was called off April 14 after a settlement between Jackson and the auction house.

Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, California was handling the auction.

The items come from Jackson's 2,700-acre Neverland Ranch, which he vacated after being acquitted of child molestation charges. He later sold the property to an investment company.

News reports indicate that Jackson could have made a lot of money from the auction, but he filed suit to stop the sale. He wanted the right to remove some of his most prized possessions from the Neverland Ranch.

Darren Julien of Julien's Auctions says he tried to re-create Neverland, room by room, to give the public a never-before-seen glimpse into Jackson's life.

The auction would have included "amusements, arcade games, Disneyana, entertainment memorabilia, garden statuary and furniture," according to the Julien's Auctions web site. Darren Julien expected the auction to bring in about $12 million.

A "portion" of auction proceeds were to go to MusiCares, a charity of The Recording Academy, according to the auction web site. Here are other items that had been scheduled for acution....
