Philips Arena was the site of three quality rock acts Monday night as Matchbox Twenty (pictured), Alanis Morissette and Mute Math entertained a crowd of more than 10,000.

Matchbox Twenty performs 'How Far We've Come' Monday night at Philips. The band formed in 1996 in Orlando, and were originally called Tabitha's Secret. The current line-up consists of Rob Thomas (vocals, piano), Kyle Cook (lead guitar, vocals), Brian Yale (bass), and Paul Doucette (guitar, vocals).

Robert Kelly 'Rob' Thomas was born Feb. 14, 1972, on an Army base in Landstuhl, Germany. His parents divorced, and Rob spent most of his childhood in South Carolina and Florida. After leaving home and high school at 17, he hitchhiked around the Southeast, crashing where he could. He eventually turned to writing music.

Matchbox Twenty has sold more than 28 million records worldwide. They are touring in support of the Steve Lillywhite-produced 'Excile On Mainstream,' the group's first album in five years.

Rob Thomas has earned three Grammy Awards, 13 BMI Awards, including both songwriter and song of the year, and was named Billboard s Songwriter of the Year two years in a row. In 2004, the Songwriters Hall of Fame presented him with its first 'Starlight Award,' which was created to recognize a songwriter who, in the early years of his or her career, is already making a lasting impact.

Singer-songwriter-actress Alanis Nadine Morissette was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on June 1, 1974.

At 10, Alanis Morissette joined the cast of 'You Can't Do That on Television,' a children's TV program. Using her earnings, Morissette recorded an independent single, 'Fate Stay With Me,' which was released when she was 10.

Alanis Morissette sings "Uninvited." She has won 12 Juno Awards (Canada's music awards) and seven Grammy Awards, and she as sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.

Alanis Morissette's international debut album, Jagged Little Pill, is the best-selling debut album by a female artist in the U.S., according to angelfire.com, and has sold more than 30 million copies.

In 1987, Morissette landed a spot on Star Search, the Ed McMahon-hosted talent show. Using her stage name, Alanis Nadine, she lost in the first round.

Mute Math formed in New Orleans in 2003. Vocalist Paul Meany sings "Peculiar People."

Mute Math won a Dove Award in 2005 and was nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for Best Short Form Music Video for 'Typical.'
