Hip hop icon Jay-Z brought his BP3 Tour to sold out Philips Arena Saturday night. Also performing were Young Jeezy, Trey Songz and Bridget Kelly.

Opening songs in Jay-Z's set included "Run This Town," "Death of Auto-Tune" and a duet of "Empire State of Mind" with Bridget Kelly.

Jay-Z's tour is promoting his "The Blueprint 3" album.

"The Blueprint 3" is Jay-Z's first album released on his Roc Nation label, after leaving Def Jam, the company he once served as president.

Jay-Z's venture as a record label executive followed a short-lived "retirement" from rapping in 2003.

As a businessman, Jay-Z still owns the Rocawear clothing line and co-owns the New Jersey Nets.

Jay-Z has had 11 albums go No. 1, more than any other artist but The Beatles.

The list of Jay-Z's hits is too long to mention. Suffice to say, he's one of the most successful rap artists of all time.

We hear that his wife also likes to sing.

Jay-Z performs "Empire State of Mind" with new artist Bridget Kelly. Alicia Keys fans will have to wait until March 30 to see their girl at Philips.

Macon's own Young Jeezy was second on the bill.

Young Jeezy's third album "Thug Motivation 103" is expected later this year.

Trey Songz, most recently seen in Atlanta last October, helped open the show.

The fans got excited during Jay-Z's set.
