The attendance, as you might expect, was fairly Atlanta-centric. Here's hometown breakout Keri Hilson, who won Best New Artist.

Former 'Hustle and Flow' co-stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard were the hosts for the evening.

The British Grammy-winner Estelle.

Angie Stone sang a tribute to Chaka Khan, at one point going into the audience to let Khan duet with her.

Comedian Tommy Davidson brought some Bootsy Collins style.

Brian McKnight joined several artists (including Ginuwine, Chico DeBarge and Kandi Burrus) in a musical tribute to Charlie Wilson.

Raheem De Vaughn was joined by Ludacris for "Bulletproof."

Producer and singer Ryan Leslie.

Wanya Morris and Nathan Morris of Boyz II Men had the audience standing and cheering during "End of the Road."

Grammy-winner Robin Thicke. The list of no-shows was long: Beyonce, Kanye West, Maxwell, Mary Mary, Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson and Drake.

Actress Keshia Knight Pulliam. The awards will be broadcast on Nov. 29 on the new cable channel Centric, a BET spinoff.
