Gloria Estefan holds the award for best traditional tropical album backstage. She also was honored with the 2008 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year award.

Tito Fuentes, of the band Molotov, holds the award for best rock album by a duo or group with vocal.

Los Horoscopos de Durango hold the award for best band album.
