This is the new face of Mr. Spock, played by Zachary Quinto. Star Trek fans will now have a whole new identity to relate to from the iconic series. Here is a look at Starfleet members both old and new.

James Tiberius Kirk was first portrayed by William Shatner in 1966, as the principal lead character in the original 'Star Trek' series. Kirk also appears in the animated Star Trek series, the eight Star Trek movies, and in numerous books, comics, and video games. Chris Pine portrays the character in the 2009 Star Trek film.

Chris Pine has appeared in romantic comedies 'The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement' in 2004 and 'Just My Luck' in 2006. Pine also played in 'Smokin' Aces.' He stars as James T. Kirk in the 2009 'Star Trek' film.

Mr. Spock was first portrayed by Leonard Nimoy in the original Star Trek series. Spock also appears in the animated Star Trek series, the first six Star Trek movies, and two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and in numerous books, comics, video games. Nimoy reprised his role alongside Zachary Quinto, who played a younger Spock, in the 2009 Star Trek film.

Actor Zachary John Quinto is best known for his TV roles as Adam Kaufman on '24,' and Sylar on 'Heroes.' He stars in the 2009 film 'Star Trek,' as Mr. Spock. 'Star Trek' will be Quinto's feature film debut.

Uhura was played by Nichelle Nichols in the original series, in 'Star Trek: The Animated Series,' and in the first six Star Trek films. She is significant as one of the first major black characters on an American television series and for engaging in a then-taboo interracial kiss with James T. Kirk (William Shatner).

In the 2009 prequel film, a younger Uhura will be portrayed by actress Zoe Saldana. Saldana is also known for playing Anamaria in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.'

Montgomery Scott, or "Scotty," was first portrayed by James Montgomery Doohan in the original Star Trek series. Scotty also appears in the animated Star Trek series, the first seven Star Trek movies, the 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' episode "Relics", and in numerous books, comics, and video games.

Simon Pegg is an award-winning English actor, comedian, writer, film producer and director. He is best known for his starring roles in 'Shaun of the Dead,' 'Hot Fuzz,' 'Run, Fatboy, Run,' and for the comedy series 'Spaced.' Pegg assumes the role of Scotty in the 2009 Star Trek film.

Hikaru Sulu was first portrayed by George Takei in the original Star Trek series. Sulu also appears in the animated Star Trek series, the first six Star Trek movies, one episode of 'Star Trek: Voyager,' and in numerous books, comics, and video games.

John Cho assumes the role of Hikaru Sulu in the 2009 Star Trek film. John Cho is best known for his roles in the 'American Pie' films 1999-2003 and the 'Harold & Kumar' films 2004-2008.

Pavel Andreievich Chekov, played by Walter Koenig in the original series, is a Russian Starfleet officer in the Star Trek universe.

In the 2009 Star Trek prequel film, the younger Chekov will be portrayed by Anton Yelchin. Yelchin a Russian born actor has appearing in several television roles, as well as the Hollywood films such as 'Along Came a Spider,' 'Hearts in Atlantis,'and 'Alpha Dog.'

The original 'Star Trek' TV cast: Walter Koonig as Chekov, George Takei as Sulu, DeForest Kelley as McCoy, Nichelle Nichols as Uhura, William Shatner as Kirk, James Doohan as Scotty and Leonard Nimoy as Spock.
