A long awaited sci-fi movie is hitting the screen soon.

Yes, everyone who is just about anywhere knows that "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" owns this week, but the "other" space franchise is muscling in, dropping its trailer for the latest installment.

The preview for "Star Trek Beyond" hit YouTube just hours ago, and it has already counted more than 83,000 views.

Some of the shots are a little shocking, with what apparently looks like the Enterprise being destroyed.

Idris Elba is assumed by some movie experts of portraying the film's unnamed villain.

And of course, Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) has to meet up with some female alien.

"Star Trek Beyond" is expected to hit the big screen in its entirety in July 2016.
