The actor who played Random Task in an Austin Powers movie has been charged in a 1990 gang rape in California, according to The Guardian newspaper.

DNA taken from the rape scene matched a sample from Joseph Hyungmin Son when he was arrested for vandalism in Orange County earlier this year. Police were seeking an unidentified second suspect.

Son was charged with five felony counts of rape and a dozen other felonies. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 275 years in prison.

In addition to his role in "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery," the Korean-born Son was a mixed-martial arts competitor.

Son was taken into custody on a probation violation Aug. 18 and, as a condition of his original plea, had to provide a DNA sample, which led to the match.

The victim was returning to her apartment after looking at Christmas lights when Son and an accomplice allegedly forced her into a car and drove away toward Huntington Beach.

She was allegedly pistol-whipped, raped, threatened with death and finally released blindfolded and naked.

Son's bail was set at $1 million and his arraignment was postponed until Oct. 31.
