He will work with Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken. Menken, along with the late Howard Ashman, gave the soundtrack to many a girl's childhood when they composed the music for the 1989 cartoon version of "The Little Mermaid."

Recently Miranda, who also wrote the music for the upcoming Disney animated feature "Moana" took control of Disney's Instagram account, posting videos of himself singing Disney songs.

One of the videos he posted was himself singing "Under the Sea."

He is also starring in "Mary Poppins Returns."

There is no date set for "The Little Mermaid."
