British actor Joseph Fiennes, known for his role in "American Horror Story," is playing music superstar Michael Jackson.

The part is in a story that involves Jackson, Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor traveling from New York to Ohio after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The studio Sky Arts is producing the television special, which according to The Guardian is based on a story reported in Vanity Fair in 2011.

The story may be more urban legend than fact, but a TV version may be entertaining either way.

Fiennes said, "It's a fun, lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek road trip of what celebrity of that kind is like. But also it's rather beautiful and poignant about their relationships."

Stockard Channing, known for her roles in "Grease" and the television series "The West Wing," is set to play Taylor. Brian Cox, known for acting in "Braveheart" and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes,"  is set to play Brando.

The show was initially announced in December.
