Disney's D23 Expo, which began Sept. 10, 2009 in Anaheim, Calif., is the company's attempt to organize and romance its far-flung followers in a way that "Star Trek," Barbie and comic book fans have their own conventions.

Ohter items on display ... the costume used by Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films ...

... A model of the Nautilus submarine used in the filming of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" ...

... costumes worn by the original cast of "The Mickey Mouse Club" ...

... an assortment of dresses from Disney films ...

... and an Oscar and and Emmy.

Lucky the Dinosaur, a free-roving animatronic character that makes appearances at Disney's various parks worldwide.
