Going to the movie theater is a great idea if you’re looking to get out of the house this weekend, but don’t want to do anything fancy.

Whether you're looking to enjoy a romantic film or an action movie over the Valentine's Day weekend, there are several new options for you.

Here are a few movies that are opening in Atlanta-area theaters this weekend. Find out which movies are playing in theaters near you with the AJC's movie listings.

“Deadpool”

If you’re looking to add some action to your Valentine’s Day weekend, consider seeing “Deadpool.” This film stars Ryan Reynolds and is based on the Marvel Comics character who becomes a superhero after being injected with a special serum.

“Zoolander 2”

The sequel to the 2001 film “Zoolander” arrives in theaters this weekend. Models Derek Zoolander and Hansel are recruited just as some of the “world’s most beautiful people” are assassinated.

“The Final Project”

If you’re looking to add some horror to your weekend, “The Final Project” might be a good film choice. This movie follows six college students as they explore an abandoned plantation to film their graduation project.

“Touched with Fire”

This film stars Katie Holmes and Luke Kirby and follows two bipolar people as they meet and fall in love in a psychiatric hospital.

“Where to Invade Next”

Michael Moore visits several countries to gain a better understanding of how people outside of America view topics such as sex, drugs and education.
