Former Atlantan, actress Nicole Beharie, arrives at the premiere of 'American Violet' at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, Calif., on April 13, 2009.

Actress Alfre Woodard who plays 'Alma Roberts' arrives at the premiere. 'American Violet' tells the story of a single African-American mother struggling to clear her name after being wrongly accused and arrested for dealing drugs in an impoverished town in Texas. The movie is based on the real-life experiences of Regina Kelly.
