Monica parties for debut of new reality TV show

Atlanta singer Monica unveils her new reality TV show "The Single" on Aug. 5, 2008. The show, to be aired on local station Peachtree TV, features the sassy songstress in business, at home and in the ATL. Just a week before the debut, she celebrated with a preview party at the fun buzz-maker Luckie Lounge.

A three-layer cake honors Atlanta R&B singer Monica, whose new reality TV show "The Single: Monica" debuts Aug. 5. Although Monica wouldn't talk much about her new album, she did predict the song "So Bad" will be a big club hit.

Dru Hill says taping is coming along fine for their reality show with Keith Sweat. We tried to get a peek under Sisqo's (middle) cap to check for platinum blond hair, but he hid it pretty well.

Monica takes a chunk out of her celebratory cake with fans, producers and friends surrounding her. About 100 people attended the private event. Monica says to expect honesty in the show as well as her upcoming album. "All the trials and tribulations I've been through will be incorporated in this show."

Bryan Michael Cox, Kandi and Yung Joc were all over the party, socializing and pretty much being the life of the party. Well, besides Monica herself.

Kandi, donning her typical Colgate smile, and Yung Joc attended in support of Monica. When asked when would Xscape make a comeback, Kandi replied matter-of-factly, "It's not happening."

Monica talks to BET about her new series on Peachtree TV. She talked about the highs of her life (her two children) and the lows (a past boyfriend committing suicide.) She explained, "I'm the same person I used to be, but I have no regrets. Life is about learning and growing."

Producer Khao, who's worked with Ludacris and is currently producing "Life of the Party" by R. Kelly and T.I., chats with wife Kiniko Cates.
