Seriously, folks, you can’t pay for this type of exposure.

Or find such a big, beautiful, heavily-traveled “gallery space” anywhere else.

Art on the Atlanta Beltline, the South's largest temporary public art project, is coming back next September for a three month run.

But today — 5 p.m. Monday, May 2 — is the deadline for visual and performing artists hoping to be featured in the "show" to submit proposals. Information and the Request for Proposals is available for download from art.beltline.org.

Last year's event attracted over 300 proposals and saw everything from hanging sculptures and Bollywood production numbers to immense photo displays and whimsical painted benches making the cut. Some pieces become instant "stars" or end up hanging around — literally and figuratively — well past the official "closing" date.

As always, Art on the Atlanta Beltline will officially kick off on Sept. 10th with the wildly popular Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade. For additional information go to art.beltline.org.
