The body of a missing country singer was recovered in a lake Monday morning in Oklahoma.

Officials confirmed they found Craig Strickland's body in Kaw Lake. He was 29. He and his friend, Chase Marland, were hunting when their boat capsized during late December storms.

Strickland's wife, Helen, posted a note on her Instagram that confirmed her husband's body had been found.

"We can finally rest knowing that he is at Home in Heaven with his Father," she said in her post. "They found him lying in the shape of a cross, looking up to his Father."

Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Kay County deputies recovered Marland's body on Dec. 28.

The hunters were in a boat that capsized sometime around 9 p.m. Sunday in Kaw Lake. Deputies were called and found the boat just after midnight. Officials told FOX23 on Wednesday they think the men and a dog were on a boat that was too small for all three. They believe the boat capsized while they were waiting to hunt. The lake the men were on is five feet above normal due to recent rains.

The body of Chase Marland, 22, was found around 11 a.m. Dec. 28.

Officials told FOX23 they were using sonar to scan the lake. Cadaver dogs from Missouri joined the search Thursday. They said no life jackets have been found near the boat or on Marland's body.

Crews called off the search Wednesday once the sun went down and will resume Thursday:

On Jan. 2, search crews were able to identify where Strickland and Marland entered the water. That allowed them to narrow the search area.
